Mistakes

There comes a time in life and your walk in faith when you reach a crossroad and have to make a decision. On the left there's an almighty and powerful God with his truth and direction, and on the right there is a desire. A desire for whatever it is that would cause you to sin. WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE? Many people often wonder why all of the sudden they aren't able to hear God. Isaiah 51:2 tells us,

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God ,and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear."

As we choose to take the road on the right and choose to give into our own fleshly desires we have now placed sin as our master, not God. As I said in my last entry, a servant only has one master. You can't have a master sin and a master God, you have to choose which to follow. As sin steps into the role of your master, it acts as a blockade between you and God.

As I explained before, in Jesus Christ we have FREEDOM! No longer can sin hold us back, no longer can it control us in the name of Jesus Christ. The bible tells us that:

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 8:38-39

No matter what you have done, no matter how many times you have screwed up, nothing in this world, no action you could ever commit could separate you from the love of Jesus Christ! How incredible is that? We have a wonderful and amazing Savior that knows our every flaw, our deepest, DARKEST secrets and still loves us unconditionally!! That's pretty amazing if you ask me.

When Jesus died the horrific death on the cross that He did, it was all for the beautiful exchange of our sins. He has saved us from any sin, any demons, any emotions holding us back from the glory of Christ in us. Now even though that love is unconditional and even though God's forgiveness  is given so freely you have to make sure that you are not taking advantage of it. Christ will always love you but do not forget the price He payed in order for those sins to be washed away. Every time we choose to to do our own thing and choose to sin, we choose death for God's son. We choose to have Him hung on the cross! We choose to have Him beaten and whipped and nailed onto a cross to suffer in pain and agony. Remember that the next time you decide to give in to that desire.

Every one makes mistakes. But as you realize them and verbally ask God for forgiveness, choose to REPENT To repent means to grieve over what you have done and to take action and call on God to walk with you and shield you from these worldly desires that you struggle with.

Ezekiel 18:21-23 “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?"

Don't take advantage of the forgiveness that we are freely given. Trust God and know that the plans He has for you are unimaginable and greater then any life you could ever choose for yourself. Choose to repent and stand firm! Stand firm in the fact that you are sons and daughters of our Lord Jesus Christ and that nothing can touch you in the name of Jesus. Go out and walk in the freedom that we have in Christ and remember the painful death He suffered in order to cleanse us of our sins and use that as motivation to resist the devil. Don't let sin control you anymore. Go be free.
